Mother and child wait for a ferry
With the help of the non-profit organization based in Brussel, Not Another Minute, headed by Diana Perez, and a group of six student nurses from Tarapoto, Peru, lead by Gerly Vasquez, herself a student nurse, 235 mothers and pregnant women in Yantalo have been interviewed as part of a base evaluation. In March and April further interviews with local obstetric nurses and midwives will take place. This information will be basis for an evaluation of the needs of women and newborns as well as the currently provided healthcare to these vital patient groups. Based on the results, the Foundation will be able to more specifically respond  and target resources to the areas that are most lacking and in need of shoring up.
Thank you Diana, Gerly and all your colleagues for your hard work. We look forward to seeing the results.
